Flow Dynamics News - May 2007
Debut Album Out Now on Freestyle Records in UK, Europe, US, & Japan...

Hi [Firstname],
Okey dokey. The Flow Dynamics album is finally out now on Freestyle Records in UK, Europe, US, and Japan. You can also catch a new release featuring my other musical project - Soul Harmonics - on French soulful house label Jaffa Music. More info below. Lastly, check out a few tunes I'm digging at the moment in my May 07 Chart. I'll be doing some dj dates in UK, Europe & Australia in July-August, so more on that soon.

See ya,
Dave

From Moscow to London, New York to Rome, and Berlin to Paris, Flow Dynamics has been creating boogie fever and booty havoc on dancefloors across the globe. Fusing live musicians with a pile of electronics and sampling, multi - instrumentalist and producer Dave McKinney has proved to be a musical force on the world stage. When the first run of Flow Dynamics vinyl singles were released on Freestyle Records (UK), Funk Weapons (US) and Invada Records (AUS), the reaction was immediate with many of the world's top DJs spinning Flow Dynamics tunes in the clubs, at major festivals, and on the radio.

The self-titled debut album from Flow Dynamics is Australia’s answer to Dr. Funkenstein; chopping and splicing together samples, breaks and live instruments into a monstrous mash-up of sounds that will have dance-floors shaking and DJs screaming “Its ALIIIIIIIVE!!!!!” This album follows in the Freestyle tradition of block-party funk and soul breaks produced by Dave McKinney; a multi-instrumentalist and founding member of the band Rhibosome. Digging deep into the traditions of funk and soul, with live musicians, heavy drums, funky bass-lines, tight horn sections, sharp cuts and raw funk vocals, the album weaves from rump shaking dance-floor fillers to head-nodding laid-back grooves, and everything in between.

“Live In The Mix” is an up-tempo party track that brings back Australia’s own answer to James Brown, long lost underground soul king Sunny Amorganda, to deliver the goods on vocal duties’. Huge with Askills, The Fort Knox Five, Dr Rubberfunk and every other DJ worth their salt on the organic breaks scene, this is a monster. “Shock Ya Mind” is a remix of ex-pat DJ Regal’s debut solo single (of Wiseguys/Bronx Dogs fame) – given the Flow Dynamics re-rub for maximum dancefloor delight, whilst “Superjam” sees the trademark sound stamped all over the All Good Funk Alliance’s original booty shaker – huge!! Another remix is “Tremendo Boogaloo” this time of Freestyle’s Latin supergroup Manteca. The original was huge with DJs such as Gilles Peterson, Mr Scruff and Patrick Forge – now sure to cross over to more funk-led floors. “At The Speakeasy” is another remix from the Freestyle vaults – this time of Speedometer. Once again featuring the vocals of Sunny Amorganda, this is another tried and tested dancefloor bomb. Elsewhere look to Just Expressin and Steady Rocking for some laidback downtempo goodness.

Dave's music has been supported by Kenny Dope, Gilles Peterson, Russ Dewbury, Mr Scruff, Ashley Beedle, Fort Knox Five, Nik Weston, Askillz, Krafty Kuts, Beatfanatic, Patrick Forge, Nickodemus, Andy Smith, All Good Funk Alliance, Annie Mac, UFO, Ed Royal, DJ Regal (Bronx Dogs / Wiseguys), Tim Love Lee, Adam Freeland, and DJ Spinna.

To follow on from the highly successful single, "Do You Even Know", Rachel Claudio & Nicolas Vautier have produced another sexy & soulful gem for their first release on new label Jaffa Music. With jacking remixes from Yass, a lovely, summer-charged remix from Dom Navarra and the Motown-reminiscent soulful house remix from Soul Harmonics, this package has something for everyone. 100% feel-good music. Already getting play from Miguel Migs et al...
